SCU BESS & EV Charging Solution for Industrial Electrification in Sweden

SCU Integrated BESS and High-Power EV Charging Solution Supports Industrial Electrification in Sweden

As industrial electrification accelerates across Europe, high-power EV charging is creating new demands on industrial energy infrastructure. For facilities transitioning to electric heavy-duty fleets, the challenge is not only providing sufficient charging power, but also managing grid capacity, peak demand and energy costs.

integrated energy storage and EV charger system

In Sweden, SCU has delivered and integrated a 625kW/1.2MWh BRES Battery Energy Storage System with an EVMS PRO 360kW DC fast charging station for a Swedish industrial company. The operational system coordinates energy storage, industrial loads and heavy-duty EV charging as an integrated energy infrastructure.

Integrated Energy Storage and High-Power Charging

The BRES system acts as an intelligent energy buffer, storing electricity during lower demand or more favorable periods and releasing power when industrial consumption and EV charging demand increase.

With up to 625kW of power capacity and 1.2MWh of energy storage, BRES helps reduce charging-related peaks, improve utilization of existing grid capacity and support the site’s growing electrification requirements.

The EVMS PRO provides up to 360kW of DC charging through dual CCS2 connectors, supporting the demanding requirements of commercial and heavy-duty electric fleets.

Under a representative operating scenario, the system could support the daily charging requirements of approximately 12 electric heavy-duty trucks and deliver around 600MWh of charging energy annually, depending on vehicle battery capacity, routes, charging schedules and fleet utilization.

Optimizing Energy Costs and Grid Capacity

By coordinating BESS charging and discharging with industrial demand and EV charging operations, the integrated solution is estimated to reduce peak grid demand by approximately 25% and generate around €50,000 in annual electricity-related savings through peak shaving, optimized charging periods and improved use of available electrical capacity.

This approach demonstrates how combining BESS and high-power EV charging can provide more than charging capacity—it can become an integral part of an industrial site’s energy management strategy.

A Scalable Platform for Industrial Electrification

The Swedish project demonstrates SCU’s capability to engineer and integrate Battery Energy Storage Systems, high power EV charging and energy management for demanding industrial applications.

As fleets electrify and charging demand grows, this integrated architecture provides a scalable pathway to expand charging capacity while making more effective use of existing electrical infrastructure.

From BESS deployment to high-power EV charging and heavy-duty fleet electrification, SCU delivers integrated energy infrastructure designed for the next generation of industrial mobility.
