In Africa, unstable power grids, power shortages and peak electricity prices have long plagued the construction of local transportation infrastructure and electrification transformation. In the face of these challenges, SCU, with its strong technical accumulation and local practical experience, has tailored a set of energy storage EV charging integrated solutions for a large taxi operator in Nigeria, solving the problems of “difficult charging and high cost”.

Energy storage EV charging solution: efficient, stable and green
The project uses the BRES containerized energy storage system and EVMS 360kW split DC EV charger independently developed by SCU to achieve peak shaving and valley filling of municipal power, grid disconnection and efficient charging of multiple vehicles at the same time.
- Energy storage configuration: 645kWh battery capacity + 300kW PCS output power to meet all-weather high-load power supply needs.
- Charging configuration: 360kW split DC EV charger, the main power unit is equipped with 6*60kW EV charging posts, which supports 50-60 vehicle charging times per day and can run continuously for 10-12 hours.
- Intelligent management: Energy scheduling optimization is achieved through the EMS system to ensure stable power supply and improve energy utilization efficiency.

Core value of storage and charging solutions:
Solve the problem of unstable city power: The energy storage system effectively alleviates the impact of frequent local power outages on operations and achieves uninterrupted charging.
Peak shaving to reduce costs and increase efficiency: Charging and storing energy during low electricity price periods, releasing electricity during peak periods, saving an average of 50% of electricity costs.
Green and environmentally friendly operation: Using renewable energy or clean electricity, each 1kWh charged can reduce about 700kg of carbon dioxide emissions and achieve low-carbon transformation.
Eliminate diesel dependence: No need to rely on polluting diesel generators, effectively reducing noise, emissions and maintenance costs.

Promote sustainable clean travel
The high-performance energy storage EV charging solution provided by SCU not only improves the operator’s charging guarantee and cost control capabilities, but also injects green kinetic energy into the development of Nigeria’s electric travel ecosystem. Through advanced system design and intelligent scheduling capabilities, operators have achieved a win-win situation of economic benefits and environmental value.
In the future, SCU will continue to deepen its presence in emerging markets such as Africa, providing flexible and efficient charging infrastructure solutions for more commercial fleets, electric taxis, urban buses, etc., helping the global transportation system move towards a cleaner and smarter direction.
