Dual-Mode EV Charging System (Fast and Slow) at Czech Factory Campus

Deployment of Dual-Mode Charging System (Fast Charging+Slow Charging) at Czech Factory Campus

Background

With the continued growth of new energy vehicle ownership in Europe, more and more companies are deploying electric vehicle charging facilities within office parks and factories to meet the charging needs of employee commutes, electric company vehicles, and corporate vehicles. Compared to public charging stations, self-built EV charging systems offer significant advantages in terms of efficiency, cost control, and management flexibility.

In the Czech Republic, a corporate client wanted to build an internal charging solution centered on DC fast charging while also supporting AC slow charging to improve employee vehicle convenience and reserve space for future electrification.

60kW CCS2 DC charger for Czech Republic

Client Requirements

During the project planning phase, the client identified the following core requirements:

  • Deploy a high-power DC charging station to meet rapid charging needs;
  • Also accommodate the AC charging needs of employee commuting vehicles to improve overall utilization;
  • Charging equipment must comply with the mainstream European charging standard (CCS2);
  • Flexible system structure for easy future functional expansion and equipment upgrades;
  • Suitable for internal corporate use, stable, safe, and easy to maintain.

Solution

To meet the client’s needs, SCU provided a 60kW CCS2 DC charging station as the core equipment of the park’s internal charging system. This DC charging station offers the following advantages:

  • Supports the CCS2 standard interface, compatible with mainstream European electric vehicle models;
  • Stable output power, meeting the fast charging needs of company vehicles and employee electric vehicles;
  • Industrial-grade design, suitable for long-term stable operation within the company park;
  • Reserved expansion space, facilitating system integration and secondary development.

Based on this, the client, according to their specific usage scenarios, added an AC charging station to the DC charging station system for daily slow charging of employee vehicles, achieving a combined configuration of DC fast charging and AC slow charging.

Project Value

Through this solution, the client successfully built a flexible and efficient internal charging system:

  • Improved charging efficiency: DC fast charging meets urgent and high-frequency usage scenarios;
  • Optimized employee experience: AC charging stations are suitable for commuter vehicles parked for extended periods;
  • Increased equipment utilization: Different power levels cover diverse charging needs;
  • Support for low-carbon travel: Encourages employees to use electric vehicles, contributing to the company’s green transformation;
  • Expansion potential: Lays the foundation for future additions of charging stations or integration with energy storage systems.

Project Summary

This Czech company case fully demonstrates the flexibility and scalability of SCU’s charging solutions in enterprise-level applications. By using a 60kW CCS2 DC charging station as the core, combined with AC charging equipment, the client achieved efficient coverage of internal charging needs.

In the future, SCU will continue to provide European enterprise clients with safe, reliable, and scalable electric vehicle charging solutions, supporting enterprises in their steady progress towards electrification and sustainable development.
